- When can I surf?
Corralea Activity Centre Ltd. is open all year round but the type of surfing session you’ll experience will depend very much on the time of year you undertake it. Obviously the sea water will be warmer in the summer months therefore making your session more pleasant.
You pick your date and check availability with the centre. The more notice you give us, the better chance to secure a date (at least one week notice is advisable).
- Can I go alone or do I need to be part of a group?
Normally, Corralea Activity Centre Ltd. operates with group sizes of 7-10 people, depending on conditions.
However surfing for smaller groups and individuals is possible. The cost per person will vary with the size of the group (proportionally more expensive for individuals).
- Where can I surf?
We normally go surfing to Rossnowlagh Beach on the Atlantic Coast. This beach is safe, has beach lifeguards and is ideal for beginners. Alternatively , if the surf is too low in Rossnowlagh, we can go to Tullen Strand.
- Do I need any experience?
No, no experience is needed, however you need to be a competent swimmer and be physically fit.
Our instructors will teach you how to take a wave, stand on the board, keep control of board, basic safety procedures while on the water. You will practise key movements on the beach first before you go in the water. This sport will give you a buzz whether you lie on your board or manage to stand on your board.
For beginners we use BSA approved (7ft or 8ft) soft boards, we also have a selection of plastic Bic boards.
